Learn more about why Molly Sims chose CoolSculpting to eliminate her unwanted belly fat! Vanity Fair

More and more women are looking every day for solutions to deal with excess fat here and there (i.e., the tummy, thighs, love handles, back fat) that just won’t go away no matter how much exercise they do. This is where CoolSculpting comes in: a non-invasive treatment that launched in the U.S. in 2010 and that has been a popular alternative to surgery.
This unique procedure, developed by Harvard scientists, is based on the proprietary science of Cryolipolysis, which demonstrates that when fat cells are exposed to extreme cold they die and are eliminated naturally from the body. There are more than 50 published clinical papers reporting on the successful outcomes of more than 4,000 CoolSculpting-clinical-trial patients, and you can read these studies yourself.
At CoolSculpting-approved locations throughout the U.S., where procedures are performed under the supervision of a physician, treatment plans are customized to meet the individual’s goals. But remember, CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss solution and is best for those who are near their ideal body weight but have love handles, a double chin, or an area on their thighs (inner and outer) or stomach that is resistant to diet and exercise.
And this is where Molly Sims comes in as an advocate of the treatment, as she had firsthand experience prior to becoming a spokesperson for the CoolSculpting brand. After having children, she had unwanted, leftover belly fat. Yes—supermodels are human, too! Guided by her cosmetic dermatologist, Dr. Karyn Grossman, she had results that were excellent enough to talk about. Treatments per area run from approximately $750 to $1,500.
So, herewith, my Q&A with the Everyday Supermodel on CoolSculpting and her favorite beauty destinations!
SunHee Grinnell: Hi, Molly! Congratulations on your sweet baby girl! How old is she now?
Molly Sims: Thank you so much! Scarlett is now six months old. She is the calmest, sweetest baby, and she brings so much joy to our lives!
SHG: Did you gain much weight from your last pregnancy?
MS: I gained around 45 pounds. It was much better than my first pregnancy, in that sense.
SHG: What’s been your workout regimen during your pregnancy?
MS: I mainly did Pilates and a lot of stretching! It made me feel good.
SHG: And what was your diet like during?
MS: I tried to be really healthy and eat whole and organic as much as possible. I think that’s the key to avoiding crazy weight gain. Oh, and I watched the cake this time! ☺
SHG: What’s been your workout regimen post-pregnancy?
MS: After my pregnancy, I worked out five or six times a week. I do circuit training, hiking, SoulCycle, and hot yoga. I really try to mix it up so I don’t get bored. I did actually take this past month off, because I was moving. But, let me tell you, that was a workout in itself!
SHG: What is your diet like now?
MS: My diet is high-fiber, low-carb, and lots of protein. I’m trying to eat a more plant-based diet. For example, I like to do Meatless Mondays. When I’m trying to lose weight, I have to be pretty strict.
SHG: How did you find out about CoolSculpting?
MS: I first heard about CoolSculpting from my dermatologist, when I was trying to lose that last bit of fat in my lower belly.
SHG: How did your relationship with CoolSculpting develop?
MS: CoolSculpting actually came to me after I wrote about having it done, in my book The Everyday Supermodel. I had tried it, I liked it, and I wrote about it in the beauty chapter, where I shared what has helped me.
SHG: What made you decide to try CoolSculpting?
MS: I decided to try CoolSculpting since it is non-invasive, F.D.A.-cleared, and no-downtime. As a mama, that’s what we need. I did it … and it totally worked!
SHG: How many times have you done it and where?
MS: I’ve done two applications on my belly!
SHG: Can you share your pros and cons about the treatment?
MS: The pros are that it really works. I maintained a healthy lifestyle and worked out, and the pooch just went away. Non-invasive and no downtime whatsoever! The only con is that it’s cold. I mean, they are freezing the fat, so that’s a given.
SHG: Can you rate your CoolSculpting result from 1 to10?
MS: Basically, it’s a 10!
SHG: Any lumpiness or loose skin or discoloration of any sort?
SHG: What advice would you give to women trying CoolSculpting for the first time?
MS: Once you do it, also make it a goal to keep maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Also, be relaxed, especially when they are massaging you at the end.
SHG: Things you wished you knew before trying it?
MS: Probably to just be more relaxed about it.
SHG: And why would you recommend CoolSculpting?
MS: There was no downtime. It’s perfect for busy moms! I had a wonderful experience, and I plan on doing it again.
SHG: How long did it take before you saw results after one treatment?
MS: Four weeks.
